We are the DREAMERS ...
For every teacher trying to teach one more child;
For every grandmother raising grandchildren;
For every parent wondering if they're making a difference;
For every person who put a dream on a shelf 20 years ago -
because life got in the way;
For every writer with a manuscript in the drawer;
For every pastor with a vision for a ministry;
For every student wondering if you’ll ever find your place . . .
If you're carrying a dream that seems impossible . . . Don’t give up!
Dreams sometimes take longer than we imagine they will . . . Mine certainly did.
Then the TrinityTrails story happened to remind me . . .
God was working even though I thought nothing was happening.
IF YOU STILL HAVE A DREAM ... YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
WELCOME HOME.
A Letter to Dreamers
THE FIRST LETTER
Dear Friend,
If you're reading these words ... perhaps you're carrying a dream that's been tucked away for years. I carried mine for over forty years ... always in the back of my mind, thinking "one day."
First, there were kids, then the profession. I was the primary bread winner back in those days. We were nest building - who had time to chase dreams. Working hard, going to school, fixing lunches.
No matter what I was doing ... there it was, staring back at me. I can remember saying, I don't want to be sittin' in the rocker on the front porch wishin' I had done this or that. I want to actually do "this or that." I wanted to tackle that dream. But when? Life was keeping me so busy.
But you know what? It's not too late.
DREAMS DON'T RETIRE ... PEOPLE DO!
When it seemed like for years that nothing was happening–it was all happening. All at once.
Life happened.
Work happened.
Family happened.
Education happened.
I wondered if I had waited too long.
I hadn't.
Here I am today, retired and working harder than ever. Because now–now, I am finally working for the dream.
So today, let me encourage you to take one step. Make one phone call. Write one page. Lean one new skill. Pray one more prayer. Don't worry about climbing the whole mountain today.
Just take that next step.
You plant that seed and God will do the watering.
The dream was always to make myself useful to Him by encouraging people, pointing them toward hope, and, if God allowed, help someone find Him along the way.
Love & Prayers,
Dr. Wanda Sue
God was always working ... even when I thought nothing was happening.
